OOTS Notes:
St. Armands Trophy Back at TBV
First I would like to start off and announce the engagement of my daughter Lauren to soon to be son-in-law Bryan. I hated for this day to come only because I never thought of Lauren growing up and moving on. I had hoped she would always be my little girl that used to follow me around where ever I went. But I guess it happened……….she did grow up. If it had to happen I couldn’t ask for it to happen with anybody else to be her better half other than someone like Bryan. To the both of them, I wish them all the love and happiness that is possible to have and more. I will always be there for the both of them no matter what.
The St. Armands Club Participation Trophy is back with Tampa Bay Vettes. TBV held the honors of top club from 2002 to 2005 at St Armands. For the last two years it changed hands to Venice. But on May 3, 2008 the trophy came back home to Tampa. We had 36 cars representing the club at the event to beat Venice out by 1 car. I would like to thank all the members that registered for Corvettes on the Circle 2008. You came through for me & TBV. Thank you.
This past month’s breakfast cruise was led by Cindy & Wes Stepp. This one rated as one of the top 10 breakfast cruises in my opinion. They did a great job with not only the route they chose but also the eatery. We ended up at Gators at John’s Pass in St Pete. Ride & Food was terrific. About 52 cars were present for the run. Once again our friends from Skyway Corvettes came along for the ride bringing about 15 – 16 cars. Thanks guys it’s always great to share the day with friends from other clubs. That’s what it is all about, having FUN. Rev up and stay tuned for clues on May’s cruise being hosted by Frank & Michele Canone. I hear we are in for another great cruise.
This year’s 1st Tampa Bay Vettes Bar-B-Q has been set, headed by Frank & Michele Cannoe. So mark your calendars for June 28, 2008. All you have to do is show up. Everything is being supplied for $10.00 per person. Menu consist of; Chicken, pulled pork, ribs, smoked sausage, hamburgers, hot dogs and all the sides. Sweet tea in included. All for $10.00…….WOW. I’m hungry already. If you would like something else to drink bring your own. Just a reminder, TBV DOES NOT support any alcohol drinking of any kind. You’re on your own. It will be held at Simmons State Park in Ruskin. There is boating, fishing, volleyball, horseshoes a beach and more. Also I hear there is another Bar-B-Q being planned for a later date in the near future. So don’t forget to check the events calendar and get out to one or two or more events with your fellow TBV members and have some FUN. Send in your money ASAP. Look for e-mails
On April 20, 2008; “TBV Night at the Dinner Theater” was held at the Early Bird Dinner Theater in Clearwater. The cost was $32.00 per person for dinner & the movie. The featured show was “Run for Your Wife” Everyone I was told had a great time. They caravanned to Clearwater and everyone had a great day. Thank Lee & Pat for a great time.
If you are not coming to some of these events, I suggest you try attending one sometime. You won’t be disappointed. You are missing out on a lot of FUN.
If anyone has any idea of a social event show that would be of interest to the club, please let me know. Also if anyone has an idea of a social event, car show, charitable event or anything that they feel would be fun in doing and they would like to organize please e-mail me at oots@aol.com
Remember, our goal is to have FUN!!!! Lets all work together to achieve this.
Thank you again for all your help and support.
